Fried Black Eyed Peas



  • 250 gm Dry Black Eyed Peas
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, diced
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin Powder
  • To taste Salt
  • Cooking Oil
  • Chili Powder (Optional)


  • Soak the beans for 6 hrs and boil until cooked. Drain and keep aside.
  • Set the pan over medium heat; add oil and fry garlic & onion.
  • Add turmeric powder and toss in the beans.
  • Add coriander powder, cumin powder, salt & chili powder (if you like).
  • Stir and mix well.
  • Garnish with diced onions and fresh coriander leaves.
